CC3 Record Finished!
You can now purchase the debut of the Criss Cheatham Trio "CC3". The cd includes your favorite blues covers "Matchbox", "Ramble On", "Whippin Post", "Ain't No Sunshine" and more. "CC3" features Criss on drums, guitar, and vox with Michael Gough and William Scruggs on bass and additional vocals.
"Party Like A Rock Star"
"There is a reason why we had to make this party invitation only," said Jack Coomes. "It just gets TOO CRAZY!" Every year gets wilder, and this year's theme was "Dress Like Your Favorite Rock Star". If you weren't there... DON'T ASK! Only the appropriate pictures made the website this year...SORRY!

Mayhem Weekend...
Where do we start? Let's see, the Nashville show at the Gibson Showcase was GREAT...but the rest of the weekend was a little more disastrous. Shea borrows Criss' car and wrecks it in Lexington, KY (over $6,000 in damage), but still manages to drive it (45mph) all the way to the Saturday gig 150 miles away! The band plays an incredible, emotional show, ending with 2 high- energy renditions of "Puff Puff Give" (William Scruggs on bass) and "Bottle of Rage", where Criss cracks his head diving into the drumset for a show finale! The band is still in tact to say the least, but not without damage.

CC3 Jams with T.O.P.!
That's right, Tower of Power, one of the greatest funk bands of all time, featuring David Garibaldi and Rocco Prestia, to name a few, sat in with CC3 at the Time Out last Saturday night. Singer Larry Braggs tore the house down with "Papa Was A Rolling Stone", "Just Enough for the City", and "Ain't No Sunshine".
Fat Daddy's Marti Gras Party SOLD OUT!
Yet another awesome party at Fat Daddy's again this year! The venue managed to avoid the rain for the most part, and the band rocked all day in Dover. We apologize to any AC-heads unable to get tickets, which sold out 3 days before the event.
Criss Hits 4 States in a Day...
Tired yet? Oh, he will be. Thursday, July 28, CC plays drums with Live Music in America in Nashville (10am), heads to Owensboro to play a solo show at the Boiler Room (5pm-8pm), then plays drums with 3Sum (9:30pm-1:30am), and finally jets to Chicago to meet with Bomshel (8am) to start the Minn, Iowa, Wisconsin weekend...wish him luck if you can catch him. "Hey, isn't he in a rock band called August Christopher..." (anonymous).
Grand Emporium in Kansas City a Blast
So, Joel gets to fly, but the rest of the band has to rent a van and haul ACE to KC!!! "That's OK, we had a blast, Cheatham never shuts up, we drove 19 hours in a 24 hour time window, but still had a KILLER time" (Shea Gold).
AC's debut in Kansas City was nothing short of a success; the show was more or less an audition for the club's much larger venue "The Beaumont" and turned out to be a great trip. Club owner/manager, John Lunkwitz immediately offered AC a gig at The Beaumont in the fall - special thanks to 97.3 'The Planet' and the Kansas City Star for much love. Stayed tuned for dates!
Debut of New Guitarist
That's right, Steve "The Bone" Sheroan's replacement, Billy Hendrickson (Crab Orchard, KY) played his first show with AC on Saturday, June 18th! "He was a bit shaky and nervous, but played well overall, especially for his first show with no full band rehearsal." (Joel). Pics of Billy will be up soon - he will be performing with the band next on July 22 at the Cadillac Ranch in Lexington, KY. Steve is still fillling in some shows between now and then.
AC Rocks 5,000 at Int'l BBQ Fest, Special Thanks to all Videographers! See FREE Sneak Peek Video of the brand new song "She Says"!
97X (special thanks to Jeff Morgan!) hosted an incredible BBQ Fest concert this year with AC as the headliner. As was posted earlier on the website, Sunlite Music, along with AC-heads, shot video to sync along with the 16-track audio recording of the entire show. The crowd was HUGE, August Christopher T-shirts were EVERYWHERE, and the DVD IS GOING TO BE
AWESOME!

USI Springfest in Indiana w/Twista; Live DVD to be released soon!
AC had a blast in Evansville at the USI Springfest, and plans to release the live DVD by June '05. Many props to The Loft, who is the real deal, great songs, great singer, good vibe. We would be lying if we said the same about Twista, who's 30-minute karaoke set was less than entertaining. Following the show, an AC-head (along with Criss) tried to get an autograph while hanging in the dressing rooms, and was rudely blown off 3 times before leaving without a single signature. Oh well, lessons learned on how to be a rock star... Check PICTURES for closeups of the show!

It seems that USI students absolutely loved August Christopher at this year's Springfest. Read the article promoting the show and the review after the show.

AC Closes Year With a Bang!
What's something that probably no other band in the country can do? August Christopher plays December 30th for a capacity crowd, having the best night at the Boiler Room in AC history, playing over 4 hours of all original rock for a standing room only. Criss wrote the new song "My Business" in the hotel room hours before the show, taught it to the band in Shea's van, and performed it flawlessly as the first song of a great weekend!

The very next night...just after rocking out AC-style, the band plays privately for the country club in town; nothing but oldies, Motown and disco for another 4 hours entertaining the high-class older crowd of Owensboro for New Year's Eve. "Members keep saying you were one of the best bands we've ever had here!" (Teresa Helms - country club director). "How does a young rock band turn around and play old-school dance music the way you do? It's like two completely different bands."

"Just another day in the life of AC as far as I'm concerned," (Criss) "don't really think anything of it..."

Incredible!

Sunset Series HUGE!
Cameras recorded the last of the DVD footage in front of 6,000 die hard AC-heads last Friday night at the Sunset Series! Footage will be posted soon from the event, where the band performed 4 hours, playing old songs such as "Superline" and "I Don't Feel Love" along with new tunes "Called To Say Goodbye", "Apple of my Eye" and "She Says". Now that the project is in the editing process, the DVD release is coming soon!
Back in the Studio
TMR Productions in Nashville volunteered its studio to record 3 new AC songs last week. The songs included "She Says", "Burn One Down", and "Called To Say Goodbye", with the basic tracks already finished. Vocals will be cut soon and the mixes readily available. "We had a great time recording," (Criss) "it was fun to have both Steve Sheroan and upcoming AC guitarist Billy Hendrickson in the studio at the same time!" Check the website for updates.
Reunion at Friday's After 5
Huge Success!
The entire musical history of AC, including original drummer Jay Lessert was performed with over 2500 people in attendance Friday. Jay, who was also playing the CMA Musicfest earlier that day, had to be escorted through the crowd to make downbeat. The opening songs were acoustic, with Jay fillling in the last of the first set. The next 2 sets featured Shea Gold in a powerful electric set with all the new material. Overall, the band played 3 1/2 hours of original music, covering the entire 6 year span of the band.
However, Jay wasn't the only one with another gig...as soon as Friday's after 5 ended, our heroes jetted to the Boiler Room for an encore 2 1/2 hour concert in the pouring rain at the Boiler Room. "I've never seen so many fans standing in the rain with shoes off jumping up and down at the BR in my life!" (Tara McCarty - manager). Welcome to August Christopher...
Shea and Criss Rock Cadillac Ranch, Music City Marathon????
OK, so Criss plays drums for national recording artist Bombshell (Curb Records), ex-drummer Jay plays drums in the country band Hilljack. Steve "The Bone" Sheroan now plays with a country band going on the road with Big and Rich. Shea Gold is...well...PISSED!!! Last Friday night, after Bombshell played a great show at the Cadillac Ranch in Lexington, KY, CC, celebrating, gets a little drunk (a lot) and sits in on drums with the ROCKIN house band "Brad Alford and Saddletramp" while the hot country girls ride the mechanical bull! A few hours later, Criss (realizing that he missed the bus back to Nashville) calls Shea, who reluctantly stops by, and the party begins!

(bombshell members C. Clark, Buffy, and Brian)

To say the least, Shea ends up slamming a phenomenal drum solo while guitarist Billy Hendrickson wails 'Eruption' to a standing-room only! AC members finally left at 3am - headed for the Music City Marathon, where Criss was too "tired" to make the 6am load-in. Thank goodness Steve can sing...
Quentin Tarantino Movie
w/Johnny Knoxville
Although his role is small, Criss performs in the upcoming Tarantino movie "Legend of Daltry Calhoun", shot in Columbia, TN. CC plays a drummer auditioning for Julliard University...more later (as the film progresses).
